Minor Policy

ALL AGES:

Parent -and- child BOTH must provide government-issued photo ID. No Exceptions.

  • Examples of accepted photo include:

    • A valid (unexpired) identification card, permit, or driver’s license issued by a state DMV;

    • A valid (unexpired) passport;

      A valid (unexpired) military ID.

Additional documentation required if:

  • Parent & child last names or addresses don’t match.

  • Using a passport or military ID (for parent or child) that doesn’t include an address.

    • Examples of accepted documentation include:

      • original birth certificate, showing parent & child names;

      • adoption papers, showing parent and child names;

      • or guardianship papers showing the name of the parent/guardian and the name of the minor.

-The minor must be accompanied by their parent/legal guardian throughout the visit. If additional children accompany you to the studio, please bring another adult to supervise them. Only the minor getting pierced & the accompanying parent can enter the piercing room. Our staff cannot supervise unattended minors.

-All documents/IDs should be original and not copies. We are unable to accept photographs of IDs or other documents.

-Documents/IDs uploaded when booking should accompany you to the appointment. The parent/guardian who completes the waiver should be the same person that accompanies the minor to their appointment.

Ages 16 & 17 :  May receive ear, facial, and navel piercings only.

Ages 13 - 15 :  May receive ear lobe piercings & select ear cartilage piercings.

Ages 8 - 12 :  May receive ear lobe piercings only.

PLEASE: If you have questions about ID requirements, please contact us BEFORE booking. We are happy to clarify any part of the policy & to help make sure you have everything you need ahead of time!


-We do not offer services for children under 8 years. Lobes are underdeveloped in younger children and the placement does not age well, leaving them as teens or adults with badly placed piercings that are too low and need to be re-pierced.

Children in the Studio

We understand that many of our clients may choose to visit us while enjoying a day out in downtown Columbia. For that reason, it's not uncommon for people to visit us with other family members, including children. Since your child cannot accompany you into a piercing room, it is important that you bring another adult with you to supervise your child. We do not allow unattended minors in the studio at any time, and our staff will not be expected to supervise them. We appreciate your understanding. 

Outside Jewelry

For your safety, we will only pierce with, or install, jewelry that comes from our studio. We use only jewelry made of ASTM-certified materials for all piercings. With jewelry from an outside source, there is no way for us to verify that it is made of safe and appropriate materials... or that it hasn't been previously worn.
