"Do you pierce minors?"
We do offer some piercings for minors under the following policy. We adhere strictly to this policy and there will be NO exceptions. More information For Parents concerning minor piercings.
Minors 16 and older: May receive ear, facial, and navel piercings only. The child must be accompanied throughout the entire visit by their parent or legal guardian. The parent and child must provide state-issued photo IDs with matching last names and addresses. If the last names do not match, we will also need to see an original copy of the child's birth certificate. If the addresses do not match, we CANNOT do the piercing. If you are unsure of what documentation you may need to bring with you, please call the studio before visiting.
Minors 13-15 years: May receive earlobe piercings only. In addition to the requirements listed above, the parent must also provide a physician's letter approving the procedure. This is SC state law. There can be no exceptions.
"Does it hurt?"
We always imagine the worst when facing the unknown, but when it comes to piercings the anticipation is always the most painful part. The piercings themselves are often surprisingly easy... a quick pinch lasting less than a second, sometimes accompanied by a sensation of warmth in the area that has been pierced. Our piercers are skilled professionals with years of experience, they will walk you calmly through the procedure, making certain that you have a pleasant and rewarding piercing experience.
"How much does it cost?"
Pricing depends on the piercing and jewelry you choose. When you get a pricing quote from us, it will always include the piercing, implant-grade jewelry and everything you need to care for the piercing. Because of the risks that can be involved in getting pierced, it's best to avoid "bargain hunting" and focus instead on the safety and quality of work that a studio offers. There's nothing wrong with comparison shopping, but it's important to compare many other things in addition to pricing.
"Do you sell jewelry for healed piercings?"
We carry a very large selection of high quality jewelry for healed piercings. Options run from steel and titanium to 18k and 14k Gold, from glass and stone to wood and other organics, as well as acrylic. If you are looking for a unique or custom piece of jewelry, we take special orders at no additional cost. We are also the only studio in SC that specializes in fine jeweler-quality pieces for navel piercings: including 14k and 18k Gold, Platinum, genuine or synthetic stones and custom settings.
"What if I have a nickel allergy?"
We have nickel-free jewelry options for every piercing that we offer. Our Titanium and 18k Gold are both nickel-free.
"What if I have a latex allergy?"
With so many people experiencing sensitivity to latex, we decided before opening our studio to make it completely latex-free for everyone's safety. We use nitrile and synthetic vinyl gloves, which are both latex-free and elastic bands are used on forceps in place of latex rubberbands.
"What is the procedure like?"
Each piercing has its own specific procedure, but there are some basics. Your piercer will walk you through the experience calmly and help to ensure that your experience is a positive one.
"Is there anything I should do to prepare?"
The best way to prepare for a piercing is simply to take good care of yourself ! Eat well, drink lots of water, get enough sleep... that sort of thing. It's always a good idea to eat a meal an hour or two before getting pierced and you'll need to make sure that you bring your ID with you. Aside from that, there is no special preparation required.
